Nielsen Library Help Center: Prospector Guide

Prospector is a system that gives you access to 30 million books, journals, DVDs, CDs, videos and other materials held in Colorado and Wyoming libraries. With a single search you can identify and borrow materials from the collections and have them delivered to your local library.

1. Go to the Prospector website.
2. Do a search for your book title.
3. Find the print version of your title (most electronic versions do not lend.)
4. Click on the title to see if there are any copies available. This is important if you want your item fast.
5. Click on "Request Item"
6. Select "Alliance - Adams State University" as your institution.
7. Enter in your name and library card number (401) or your asu+900 number (asu900XXXX). 
8. You will be notified by email when your item arrives. Come to the first floor circulation desk to pick up your item.

Most Prospector books take about a week to come to the library if they are available. Sometimes there are delays. If you think your book is delayed, please call Karen Melgares at 719-587-7190 so that we can investigate.
