Reserves: Library Info

Library Staff (incl. Student Worker) Information

Library Workers,

Try to troubleshoot questions, but don't hesitate to forward questions on to Amanda Langdon, Reserves Manager.

Faculty Bringing in Books: ask if they've submitted the request form online. If not, offer them print form (on top of the media cart), or ask them to please submit the online form.

Faculty Picking Up Books: ask them to fill out the removal form (also on top of the media cart); if they're planning to bring the book back, just let them have it!

Student Requests for Material: [flowchart graphic at bottom]

1) See if we have the book/material on the Reserves shelves.

2) Ask them if they've checked for the material in Blackboard. Their faculty may have already uploaded it.

3) Ask them if the reading is for the whole class, or if it's for them individually.

4) If it's for the whole class, encourage them to talk to their faculty about digitizing material. (This is likely if the book is NOT on the shelf, or the faculty has not submitted the need-by dates and chapters.)

5) If they still need material promptly, determine if you have library staff support to do the scanning.

6) If there IS staffing, then make sure you get student's name, Course number (e.g. BUS 102), the title and edition of the book, the chapter needed (no more than 2 chapters), and the student's email for delivery. Ask staff to please scan for student.

7) If there is NOT staffing, obtain student's name, Course number (e.g. BUS 102), the title and edition of the book, the chapter needed (no more than 2 chapters), and the student's email for follow-up, and send to Amanda Langdon (ANLangdon@adams.edu), who will follow up during business hours.
